American Prospect calls Hillary Clinton a birther
Just in case you forgot, even for a second, how much the Liberal Doods hate Hillary Clinton and how recklessly they will malign her (and no doubt any other female politician), Adam Serwer is here to refresh your memory. Just out of the fucking blue, dredging up a smear from 2008—which, ironically, doesn’t even have anything to do with birtherism.
God, these guys are such assholes. Still.

I’m a transcripter myself. I firmly believe that the reason why Obama won’t release his college transcript is that his grades really stink.

There is only one good thing about Hillary Clinton not being president: we would be getting this every single day. The liberal and conservative and leftist men and all kinds of men would try their best to destroy her.
Does a woman have to be a UFO in bullet proof armor to be president in this country?

I’m curious about those transcripts too. One thing I think they’d show: very few classes in American history (none on the Depression or FDR, I’m certain, probably nothing whatsoever on LBJ and the 60s) and probably none at all in economics. That’s the only reason I can think for Obama’s skewed understanding of Democratic party history and for his real whoppers on basic economics (his stating that the government budget is exactly like a household budget, for example.)

Not so long ago, some columnists resuscitated the RFK smear as well. Revealed her true character, never to be forgiven or forgotten. A smear is never truly discredited if it can be of some use and they’re short on actual facts to explore the depths of her perfidy.
His grades must have been good, they got him into Columbia and Harvard Law. It’s probably just personal amusement, watch as the press and the liberal blogosphere talk about transparency and demand X, Y, and Z from Hillary Clinton, watch as the press and liberal blogosphere treat my transcripts as privileged and act as if it’s unprescedented or sinister to request them.

His college grades were probably pretty good but not stellar. I agree with dandelion that there are huge holes in his curriculum. But what can do you. I think Obama made the right choice to suppress his transcript. No matter the GPA and LSAT numbers, some asshole would say that he didn’t deserve to get into Harvard Law, and racists would agree.

Alas, can’t agree that Hillary not being President so she’s not attacked every day is a good thing. All Presidents are attacked by someone every day. Hillary would have been (and still would be) a much better President, whether under attack or not.As for documents, there’s something there — whether simply that he preferred the name Barry before his political ambitions started, or flaky grades or whatever. Such stuff is marketing gold that The One would have trumpeted otherwise.

Well, I’m probably being raycist just to suggest that he should ever have been graded at all. What teacher would ever have been worthy of judging The One?

So, let them! Hillary can take it and we will win with numbers. As long as women are rare in any profession, there will be sexism and misogyny. -

I agree with votermom. There doesn’t seem to be any point in not revealing the transcripts if his grades were as phenomenal as his fans believe. The only reason to hide them is if they were mediocre. IMO, Obama’s way too arrogant to withhold high grades. The man doesn’t have a humble bone in his body.
And you’re not being racist, votermom. Intelligence is believed to be an x-chromosome trait. Which Obama got from his (white) mother’s side, not his father’s.

I don’t know, didn’t Bush get better grades than Kerry, or something? That was a story for half a day before everyone forgot about it. Obama’s team considers everything in political terms, and releasing the transcripts, good, bad or indifferent, wouldn’t have amounted to a thing. But supressing them upsets his detractors, then enflames his defenders, and years later it’s still potent to the readers of American Prospect. They know what they’re doing.
