This entire scenario is terrifying and eventually, this will spread to other countries. When it does, I wonder if any of these parasite will be there to feast on the chaos. The media is a reflection of those in power, make no mistake about it. The situation on this planet is dire.

xkcd forgot the bit about the sea floor fracturing and belching a gas ball that causes a tsunami that floods everything to Memphis. (Of course that would put out the fires lit by the oil-soaked hurricane and give the alligators a route back to the swamp, so it’s not all bad.)
