Memeorandum finds an even bigger font

The wingnuts are going absolutely apeshit this Saturday evening, and Memeorandum is using bigger and bigger fonts to report the proceedings. I fully expect to click over there and find them running 80 point Impact Bold.

Here’s the lead story from Pamela Gellar, the Insane Person who writes Atlas Shrugged:

Paypal Cuts Off Atlas: Truth is the New Hate Speech [imagine that bit in humongous blue font -- VS] — The little money that Atlas generates (I have no large donors) is about to be cut off. Apparently the jihad is hard at work trying to kill free speech (and the bus ads and the 9111 no mosque movement) from making its way to those in pursuit of truth.

Dear God! PayPal is part of the international jihad? PayPal? Ebay PayPal? Ebay “Thanks for being an A++++ shopper and hope you enjoy the vintage Day-Glo coasters!” PayPal?

There’s also something about YouTube pulling a parody video, which apparently means they are part of the international jihad as well. PayPal + YouTube. It is frightening, I admit.

And then this, also from Pamela Gellar:

“I am a Muslim,” Obama Tells Egyptian Foreign Minister Gheit Islamic Coup on the White House… Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit said he had a one-on-one meeting with Obama, in which President Obama told him that he was still a Muslim, the son of a Muslim father …

Actually, maybe it’s just Pam Gellar who’s having a meltdown.

Assuming, for the sake of argument, that Gellar has her facts right. How does this differ from JFK saying “Ich bin ein Berliner”?

(Yes, I know what that really means. That’s not the point here. The point is what JFK meant.)

How funny, quixote; I thought of the same thing.

On the former, I read that as whoever-the-hell-she-is saying that the “jihad” is complaining to PayPal to get her PayPal privs yanked, not that she thinks that PayPal is a dues paying member of the “jihad”.

IMO, someone needs to step up and tell PayPal that if they’re going to act like a bank, they need to be regulated like a bank.

On the latter, I concur with quixote.
