Naked Capitalism book forum on Sunday, March 28
It’s over at Corrente from 2 to 4pm EST. Yves Smith, the proprietor of Naked Capitalism, will participate in a discussion of her new book ECONned, said discussion hosted by BDBlue.
Be there or be, um, a box. A rectangular box. No, wait. That’s not it.

Please drop by yourself, Violet! If there’s anybody equipped to answer the question “Why is finance a feminist issue?” it would be Yves. And the Justice Party needs this issue clearly framed, IMNSHO….

Well, I’d dearly love to participate but I think my Corrente registration confirmation went to the great Spambucket in the Sky over a year ago. As a result, I can’t login, obtain my password, or even reregister. I do have a comment, however:
“Propaganda, Capture, Extortion, Looting. That’s not a cute pronounceable acronym, however.” (lambert) NONSENSE, it is a “pickle” and I think it’s fair to say we are all in a “pickle” at this time.

Violet, as this post is about books and as I know about your special relation with the Finnish ;) I’m happy to let you know that today a young Finnish author, Sofi Oksanen, was awarded the very prestigious Nordic Council Literature Prize 2010.
“In a rich and expressive language she weaves a specific historical event, the Soviet occupation of Estonia, with a burning topical global contemporary theme – trafficking around the Baltic Sea.”
