I last belonged to NOW in the mid-80s. O’Neill has me thinking I may join again.

  2. Basement Marxist says:

Hahah holy crap, I did a little dance when the interviewer pointed out that both Hyde and Stupak are white men telling women what they can do.

Great interview, and I think NOW and others should really run with the meme “this amendment overturns Roe v. Wade.” It’s simple, to the point, and I believe it will be effective.

  3. angie says:

Woo Hoo! I left NOW because of Kim Gandy & the entere 2008 primary/general election debacle. I rejoined after O’Neill was elected as a sign of support after her election controversy. I’m glad I did.

I was also surprised by Nancy Sniderman. I didn’t know msnbc allowed feminist views to go out over their airwaves.

I had to let my NOW membership lapse in the early nineties due to financial difficulties. At that time, paying my rent was a higher priority. When they called, I asked if there was some form of discounted membership or hardship waver, and they were totally unsympathetic. That kind of pissed me off. I’m sure their numbers would be higher if they had an exception for lower income members. Maybe a buddy system where one member could sponsor another member for a year. Anyway, now that things are better and I really like Terry O’Neil, I think I’ll join again.

Wowzer, Dr. Nancy! On MSNBC no less…

  7. foxx says:

Someone needs to tell O’Neill to STOP SMILING.

I hope it is true that there are rallies planned around the country.

  8. PurpleGirl says:

At the moment I have nothing intelligent to say — but SPACE ALPACAS FTW. :)

  9. Grace says:

Somebody needs to publicly say outloud that Barack Obama IS NOT A FEMINIST, never was, and never will.He is just a man of convenience who will kiss anybody’s ass if politically necessary for his reelection. But of course denouncing him now would be an embarrassment for NOW and the “Ms” magazine for picturing Obama in its front page last year. NOW and NARAL sold out, the latter actually endorsing Obama prematurely before the primaries were over.

Oh….and Michelle Obama is not a feminist either, that for sure.
