Interestingly, I really do wear pajamas all the time

Via Jane Hamsher:

In the clip, Lester Holt asks John Harwood if the White House is concerned about complaints from progressives that Obama hasn’t delivered:

HARWOOD: Sure but if you look at the polling, Barack Obama is doing well with 90% or more of Democrats so the White House views this opposition as really part of the “internet left fringe” Lester. And for a sign of how seriously the White House does or doesn’t take this opposition, one adviser told me today those bloggers need to take off their pajamas, get dressed and realize that governing a closely divided country is complicated and difficult.

The condescension, it drips.

By the way, it’s true: I really do wear pajamas. Perhaps if I were more sartorially presentable I would understand why a Democratic President/Nobel Peace Prize Winner/Global Messiah with majorities in both houses of Congress is forced to a) continue the craptastic fascist policies of his Republican predecessor, and b) beg the Republican minority in Congress for an extra quarter so he can get the Twizzlers and the Nip Chee crackers.

At least they’re going after the Internet left fringe. Their attacks on the Internet right fringe were getting boring.

  2. Kookaburra says:

Oh, yikes. Look out Liberal Blogger Dudes – Obama was shitting on women, did you really think he wouldn’t shit on you too?

This is the part I like best:

Well there’s more concern about those comics because they reach a broader audience, Lester. And you’ve got to admit the Nobel Committee gave them a pretty big target because there’s a lot of people left, right and center who thinks there’s something funny and a little bit off about giving a Nobel Peace Prize to a president only in office nine months who hasn’t accomplished any of his major goals, Lester.

Obama has finally united us “left, right and center” in finding it amusing that he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize having done nothing!

You may still be in your PJs.

But… yesterday you were a neocon racist, and today you are Lefty fringe.

    Just like that!

I’m confused. I thought I lived in my mother’s basement. Did I move?

Aside from the fact that 90% stat is made up, I like the appeal to popularity fallacy there. Because we all know, the majority opinion is never wrong.

But Lester, the Obama administration hasn’t taken care of the big issues like “health care, energy, the economy” nor do I believe that they ever will. I guess inequality and civil rights for gays is a non-issue to the Nobel Peace Prize recipient.

Glad to know that the gays and left bloggers who overwhelmingly campaigned and voted for The One are now seen as a part of the unimportant “left fringe”. A few comedians concern the White House than the hundreds of thousands of people who marched for gay rights yesterday.

I’m disgusted but not surprised to hear this from the Obama News Network.

  7. yttik says:

They have to work hard to keep the masses divided. If the pajama wearing lefty fringe ever joined with the tea partiers and the bitter knitters and the pumas and the gay rights marchers, over just one single issue, holding our government accountable, it would be all over for those in power.

But of course we’ve all been well trained not to unite. Nobody wants to get “those people’s” coodies on them. Just like women divide ourselves arguing over who is a real feminist and who isn’t, the people of this country don’t want to accept the fact that we’re all sitting next to each other under the bus.

  8. madaha says:

I hate the implication that because I expected different things from Obama, that I’m seeing things simplistically. What an insult. Yes, removing troops might be complicated, but continuing to bombs civilians is not. The idea that it takes a while to stop killing people is morally reprehensible.

  11. LabRat says:

This administration feels unpleasantly high school. Some anonymous official is always saying incredibly bitchy things while the “faces” go “Nuh-UH, we’re totally bffs with those guys” and whine about how mean people are always spreading lies about them and trying to totally ruin their image and stuff.

  12. Grace says:

Anybody who dares to question BO or expresses dissent instead of following the rest of the sheeps, will end up being seen as part of either the left or right “fringe.” It’s the American politics’ way, I guess….Divide, triangulate, deceive, and confuse people. This is all very well explained in “Capitalism: A love story” the last movie of Michael Moore. It is a well-done documentary, with the exception when it brings up Obama, almost at the end. Moore has difficulty being objective because he openly supported and voted for the guy, and he would now look like a fool if he acknowledged that last year he also became one of the sheeps.

  13. bob coley jr says:

But don’t we elect a prez to do the tough and complicated things? No? My mistake. S/HE MUST SPIN FOR US! I get it. No tough things for the prez. He did have to pick a dog though.

  14. yttik says:

I have to laugh, I remember Bush complaining about presidenting, “it’s hard work, it’s hard, hard work.” Obama sounds a lot like Bush now lamenting that it’s “complex and difficult” to govern.

    Well guess what? If you two can’t stand the heat, get out of the damn kitchen and put a woman in charge :}

  15. Violet says:

yttik, I had that same thought last night. I tweeted it in fact. Seems like a good thing to do with thoughts.

  16. madamab says:

Not only is this Administration overly fond of giving the middle finger to its most ardent supporters, it’s also the most tone-deaf in recent memory. If the media ever stops covering for Axelrove & Co., it’s going to be screamingly obvious to the most clueless of observers that Obama is nothing but an underqualified, overhyped amateur with Dear Leader dreams and nothing to back them up.

  17. angie says:

Not to interrupt, but have y’all seen this?

    link

“Obama adviser says Sharia Law is misunderstood.” Good lord, I can’t believe this guy didn’t get a Nobel Peace Prize sooner. /s

  18. Against Rape says:

Oh, it’s worse than you know, angie. The Obama adviser who thinks Sharia law is OK is a woman. . .

    WTF is she thinking?

  19. monchichipox says:

Ha ha Violet you’re lunatic fringe now for disagreeing with Obama. Welcome to the club.

  20. teresa says:

I wonder if we can make a big enough stink to get this woman fired from his adninistration?
She should not be advising any president of the US. What is he thinking?
