White House official: “We have no idea what we’re doing”
“Sebelius Misspoke” says an unnamed administration official, no doubt speaking from an underground parking garage on K Street. According to Ambinder:
This official asked not to be identified in exchange for providing clarity about the intentions of the President.
Clarity about the intentions of the President? There is such a thing? And it’s being bandied about in underground parking garages?
Lordy, lordy.

Sebelius mispoke = the reaction to what she said might cause us political discomfort. It’s a variation on WORM – What Obama Really Meant.
This is increasingly reminding me of some of the more absurdist comedies of the 1980s, like Night Court. Only those were funny. And had much more realistic characters.
Next election, can we just put “unidentified official” on the ballot? S/he’s the only one who ever makes statements since at least 2001; may as well elect he/she/it directly.

And this is exactly why I am against any “reform” under Obama. I don’t trust him — he has shown us time & time again that he is in over his head. I know we need health care reform in this country, but anything, and I repeat, anything that comes out of this affair is going to make things worse for us “little people.” Better the devil you know until we can elect an actual progressive leader, not just a guy who plays one on tv.

Unbelievable what passes for “transparency” nowadays. Huh?

The time for clarity has come and went.
I really don’t like Sebelius very much, but the moment she was chosen I felt bad for her. I think she genuinely believes this president shares her ideals and has her back. I took one look at her and thought “scapegoat.” Obama is a lot like Bush that way, he believes in appointing women because they’re handy if you ever need somebody to blame things on.
Funny that getting clarity from the president involves an anonymous informant leaking top secret info. Never mind transparency anymore and publisizing the debate on cspan, how about you just pick a position and clue us all in?

They would have picked Axelrove to deliver the bad news, but he’s probably too busy making commercials for the insurance companies:-)

These idiots actually scare me. I thought Bush was awful but nothing he did comes close to my fear of Obama and his band of incompetents. Obama is Bush cubed.

This makes me crazy. Comments from ‘unnamed sources’ do not provide clarity. Americans need to be able to evaluate whether or not the speaker is trustworthy in order to decide if the comment is worth believing. Americans should not be willing to ‘trust’ the reporter and his/her objectivity.
Reporters are too lazy to get the story and would rather sit in their offices and quote ‘unnamed sources”. It was wrong when the Bush-loving press did it and it is just as wrong when the Obama-loving press does it.
I will continue to get my news from places (like this) that I trust. I hope more and more Americans learn to be skeptical citizens.

You’d think that “providing clarity about the intentions of the President” would be something you’d want to go on the record about. Yes? No?

I’m so confused: why didn’t he just disperse his clarification on Twitter? I mean, since he’s all about the Web 2.0 and grassroots and transparency of government and all that crap.
Oh, wait, that was all marketing brand schtik? I AM SO SHOCKED.

OT ..Speaking of playing a progressive liberal on tv ( I love that) The Profiteer In Chief may not shoot wolves from helicopters, he just wipes out an entire single species by clear cutting the virgin forest which is their habitat .That is WAY different … ya know..

“It doesn’t seem like Obama is very popular.”
He’s working very hard to raise his numbers. It’s very difficult to promise everything to everyone without anyone ever having to pay anything, so he’s taking lessons from telemarketers and Bernie Madoff on how to scam the maximum number of people with the minimum amount of effort.

Here’s an honest politician:
Rep. Joe Donnelly at a health care meeting, “I’ll do the best I can, but I don’t know what’s the right thing to do yet. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I don’t even know what we’re going to be voting on.”
