Jesus who?
Instead, the Christians I’m wondering about are the millions of ordinary, considered followers of a Bronze Age guy named Jesus, a guy who, to my mind, had some pretty specific things to say about the U.S. health insurance industry and its practices.
Who is this Bronze Age Jesus? I had no idea there were two Jesus cults in the world. Keerist.

That is pretty funny.
Based on who advertises there, I’ve suspected for some time that the only people who watch History Channel are other old farts like me. It’s obviously not hip enough for HuffPo writers.
Though sadly HC has taken rather a detour into Armageddon and Monster Quest programs. [hangs head] I do confess a guilty pleasure in Monster Quest. [shrugs ruefully]
I’m waiting for one Jesus cult that actually pays attention to what he taught – caring for the poor, the sick, standing up for justice, treating others generously. Not a word about worshiping the free market in the lot.

Ye must not be paying much attention if you’re unaware that Christians DO pay attention to what Jesus taught — caring for the poor, the sick, standing up for justice, treating others generously. The trendy bashing of Christians by atheists/ agnostics/ pagans has gotten so tiresome. Look at any group — Christians, atheists, women — and you’ll find that about 10% are saints, 10% are assholes, and 80% are people doing the best they can in life.

More propaganda “real ( bronze age ones ) christians want health care, dont YOU ? ”
And speaking of conflation … I think they are conflating the bronze age savior guy ( that is funny ) with the bronze god obama ” who had some pretty specific things to say about the U.S. health insurance industry and its practices,” when he was campaigning , and now is saying whatever Jeffrey Immelt wants him to say .
The pope won’t like it tho , he doesn’t even like Africans wearing condomms to prevent the spread of HIV and aids

I know of very few Christians (or any religious folk*) who walk the walk as much as they talk the talk. Just sayin.’
(*Judaism excepted. Most Jewish I know seem to have a very well-examined and healthy relationship with their God that seems to prevent forays into raging hypocrisy.)

Modern X, I guess I haven’t been paying attention to the utopia we live in. There aren’t large amounts of people losing their homes, and going without health care, and we don’t have spiraling income inequality, or people who are applauded for making a buck no matter who dies to enable it. Gosh, thanks for straightening me out.
Of all the assumptions you made about me, I think the funniest one was calling me “trendy.” Thanks for the chuckle.

That bronze age Jesus did have some good things to say about the evils of charging interest and the sin of exploiting poor people. And what you do to the least among us, you do to me.
LOL, Sister of Ye is hip and trendy? Cool, me too! I think I’ll run over and play with the “fun feminists” who are trying to come up with a hip and friendly new name for feminism that doesn’t turn people off…. Or I might just go clean my toliet bowls, maybe do a little pooper scooping in the yard.

Hey, wait till my hockey puck art is in the Louvre, then I will be hip and trendy. I’d love to add rich as well, but that’s probably too much to ask.
I would like to have enough money someday to be “eccentric” instead of just weird.

Hey I think I am trendy as all get out too darn it .. .. here is MY IDEA …instead of funneling money TO churches via the government .. tax them for being politically involved and lobbying .. it might lower the deficit , or use the money to pay for health care how could they object ? How many pricless works of art does the pope need ??

I think we need a Stone Age and an Iron Age Jesus as well. They could go on tour with the 3 Tenors as the 3 Ages of Jesus with a big Andrew Lloyd Weber finale at the end.

Actually, I think Bronze Age Jesus would be a great band name.

if i can be trendy just by continuing to slag off christians for not doing any of the stuff that bronze age guy talked about, then i better find a new challenge – it’s just fish in a barrel time or loaves and fishes in a barrel of water that just changed into wine. and how come he never bothered writing a blog? calls himself a messiahaha?

Remember, people, the nuanced and intellectually-superior view of religion is that all religious people are exactly the same.

Graingers, your comment makes no sense.
