From yttk:

The problem is you have to make a vegan, environmentally friendly, culturally respectful, racially supportive argument, every time you point to a woman’s mutilated body.

Could be worse, I guess. At least the ProgBlogs aren’t yet blaming the dead women for allowing themselves to be made into biological hazards. That may come next week.

Good of you to highlight yttk’s very pithy comment.

  2. Branjor says:

Of course. Because a statement like that takes the attention off the mutilated woman. We simply need to refuse, like stubborn mules, to defocus from the mutilated women.

Great gallows humor, yttik! Truly great!

That quote certainly sums it up. Everyone is so conditioned to expect this little “disclaimer” act everytime we talk about women that I even find my husband trying to get me to do it sometimes, and I have to remind him to knock it off.

  5. octogalore says:

That pretty much sums it up.

And yet to suggest the reverse — making a vegan or race-oriented or poverty-oriented observation ONLY valid if it mentions the feminization of the issue — would be deemed ludicrous and hysterical.

I loved that quote, but I also love what came after. At one point in that same comment, yttk also said: “It’s exhausting!” I couldn’t agree more. That’s probably by design.

  7. Hedgepig says:

As Twisty said just the other day “You’ve been on fire lately yttk.”

And to add to what octogalore said, women are treated like a special interest group whose agenda the majority of people couldn’t possibly be expected to take into account all the time. Except of course that women are the majority of people.

I sent this to tons of friends. It would be hysterically funny if it were so f–ing true.

So true. Maybe it is “bikini brain” heh
