Help wanted: Guerilla fighter for women’s rights
If you live in the D.C. area and you’re willing to lay it on the line for women’s rights, Lynette Long has a job for you:
I am starting a new group of women warriors, gorilla girls, female fighters…I want twenty-five women who are willing to fight beside me for women’s rights. Women who are willing to get arrested for women’s rights. Women who are not only willing to talk the talk but walk the walk. The group will make precision strikes at selected targets. Strikes might include sitting in the congressional gallery and holding up banners regarding women’s rights, picketing the White House, marching into Pelosi’s office single file, dropping bags of rocks off at an embassy after a woman is stoned, doing a visibility line on Massachusetts Avenue at rush hour or blowing up pictures of our nation’s currency and holding pictures of it outside the Department of the Treasury with sign that read, “where are the women?”
More on who and what is needed:
- Women — age 18 to 108, no minors allowed due to the risky nature of the operations.
- Willing to attend weekly strategy meeting in DC.
- Willing to protest at least monthly, maybe weekly in DC.
- We need two photographers who can take photos of our actions.
- We need one videographer who can video our actions and post on you-tube.
- We need two media people who can make contacts with local media and advise them of our actions.
- We need two communications specialists who can contact all the members of the group by text, email, phone, and coordinate communications.
- We need two writers who can blog about our activities.
- We need two lawyers who can advise us if our activities are illegal.
- We need three researchers who help identify targets, research who they are and where they go.
- We need two props people who can create and maintain props.
- We need creative minds, lots of them, to help think of ways to strike effectively.
- We need former military people who can help coordinate our activities.
- We need you.
Go to Lynette’s blog or write to her at drlynettelong@aol.com.
I would absolutely love to join in myself, but I don’t live in the D.C. area. I’ll do whatever I can to publicize the group’s actions, though.

Lynette this is terrific. We can all send this around, right?
Exciting. Galvanizing. All the accolades.
Cheering for you from the frozen north.

Ah! I was channel surfing just now and landed on CNN as they were reporting that “The New Agenda, a women’s group…” were displeased with something that Obama or one of his sexist cohorts had said about Clinton, were calling on him to not tolerate sexist behavior in his cabinet and were demanding that he apologize to her. The New Agenda was also quoted, but I don’t remember the exact quote.
I caught only the tail-end of the story but was just so excited to see The New Agenda mentioned and quoted at CNN that I had to come post to you about it. I apologize for the interruption.
Now, off to copy this to The New Agenda site.

Fabulous! Lynette Long is going rogue. I love it!
Did anyone see that spoof on the Daily Show, “Palin is going rogue”? A spin off on the terminator theme. “She won’t mind, she won’t follow orders, it’s as if she’s got a mind of her own! Red alert, she’s gone rogue!”
Loved the concept. Well behaved women seldom make history.

Wonderful. I sooooo wish I lived in DC. This is exactly what I’ve been saying we need for months now. Glad someone with some visibility and proximity is going with it.

Why can’t men join? There are men who sincerely care about women’s rights, and I don’t think we should leave it all up to women to fight for their own rights, as though men don’t have to care at all.
-
Sis says:
Anna my point of view is men should make their own actions and organization, working for women’s rights. But they should not be part of women’s organizations. I have seen it does not work. They take it over, tell us what the truth is, women defer to men because we’ve been conditioned, groomed, all our lives to do that. Even when we don’t know we are, we are.
Existing men’s orgs or men working for women’s rights: Robert Jensen, Stan Goff, Adonis Mirror. There are a couple others. Those on google.
Men should not be part of women’s rights orgs.

Ha, see that Sis already responded. lol
I’d like to join the Black Panthers, Anna, but while some of them would by happy by my show of solidarity, some of them would whine about white people taking over, or white people only joining in order to alleviate our “white guilt”. So I don’t join. Out of respect. For the fweelings of the least among them is more important than the fweelings of the greatest outsider. And for some wacky reason, the symbolism of crashing their formal party when I’m specifically not wanted right there at that time seems a tad colonizing and patronizing.
Donations of cash or equipment would be very respectful, btw. lol

Will they be accepting donations for making bail?

OT: Sanda have a look. The one at the bottom. http://www.harperdictatorship.ca
Who knows how to make a YouTube video? Something like this would be great on Gropergate.

Per my email to Lynette, I so wish I lived near DC. I would be there in a heartbeat. I can offer blogging and communication contributions if you need them, however.
