I have long believed the most dangerous thing about this primary was the misogyny, especially aimed at older women, running rampant unchecked by Obama or the Democratic Party. You can’t simply put that back up in its cage now that the nomination is over. That kind of hatred spewed into the culture is bound to affect the culture and change it in ways that are not positive.
Obama may very well want to stop this now, but I’m not sure this monster is still within his control. But then that’s what always happens when you accept help from a monster, it eventually turns on you. What? Obama and the Democrats thought Frankenstein was really about a scientist who built a monster from dead people?

Some folks may be good Christians and are willing to turn the other cheek.
I’m not that good. I mad as hell and determined to never, ever get over it. Some things are forgivable, and other are not. This? Not!

I got an email today advertising the latest issue of a poli sci journal. Without a moment’s hesitation I sent it right back saying I’d start buying it when (1)they started publishing female academics in proportion to their presence in the field, and (2) when they started writing about women’s rights and political stability, etc. Otherwise, I said, you can stuff it - you’re not making an effort, so why should I.
I think I will give this treatment to every announcement, solicitation, invitation, etc. If women are underrepresented, and women’s rights are not part of the picture, I’m out - and I’m telling them why.
I think I need to have some stickers made up that say something like “this publication is biased again women” or “this product is biased against women.” Its not exactly what I mean… maybe someone else has a better slogan?
Okay, that was a tangent :-) But I am really, really, really mad.

And it helps when sadly you look around, as I sometimes do, and wonder what the hell happened to all those feminists I used to know who fought so hard for the ERA.
