I just now saw.

Goodbye, dear sweet blog dog. My heart is so full I can say nothing else.

I read every single post in his ‘Zeke’ category and wept mightily. What a writer, what a human being, this Chris Clarke. What a benevolent presence, what a fine companion, his Zeke.

As one very new to canine companionship, I was richer for all those stories. I have my Lynyrd’s whole doggie life to look forward to. I can’t imagine, now, what I ever did without him.

I have Zeke’s pic for my wallpaper (have had it for a few months now) because he looks so serene and loving. I’m saddened. RIP Zeke. Him a good dog.

This is just too close to home for me and I’ve had to avoid Chris’s site for awhile.

I’ve been fortunate to share my life with several dogs, and they come and they live in their own magical time (its not simply 7-to-1 time) and then they slip away on their own terms following their own divine plan.

The Buddhists say that the best way to embrace anything in life is to simultaneously embrace that it is already gone. Enjoy the priceless masterpiece in fragile glass today, and experience it deeply and completely, but assume that it has already fallen and shattered.

The attitude encourages deeper living in the moment. If the dream you think is waiting endlessly and patiently for you (like a vacation in magical France) would vanish in months (perhaps in the mists of war), what would you do today to make your dream a reality?

If someone close to your heart really was going to be gone tomorrow, what would you say to them today? The question is trite, even banal, but the response is not.

    Why not live fully now?

    Hmmm,

On that note I’ll say, “Thank you Violet for this place of conversation. You might be gone tomorrow but it is wonderful to be here today.”
