Yes, he actually said “machines”

Knob
I missed this in the news, but fortunately Twisty was on the job: the Borg Minister of Japan has referred to women as “birth-giving machines” and called on them to do their best “per head”:
“Because the number of birth-giving machines and devices is fixed, all we can ask for is for them to do their best per head,” he said. He added: “Although it may not be so appropriate to call them machines.”
Salon has also reported on the story, and I note with interest that 2 of the 6 commenters (that’s about 33% for you girls out there, since math is hard) not only agreed with the Borg Minister, but offered the further intelligence that a) everything is women’s fault, and b) feminism is a mental disease.
Patriarchy? What patriarchy?

Well what do you expect from a country which sells used schoolgirl panties in vending machines?

You must know the very sad story of the number one baby making machine in Japan – the Emporer’s (?) wife. Graduate of Harvard, or some other elite university, daughter of a diplomat and ready to follow in her fathers footsteps – then met and fell in love with the divine/royal boy. By all accounts he also loved, and still loves her. He tries to protect her from public scorn and disappointment over her baby making failure, and now her limited public appearances because she is currently deeply, deeply depressed. She was immediately cut off from her previously stimulating life when she finally decided to marry, plus every move she made was scripted, watched etc. Talk about giving it all up for love.
So, anyway, this baby making machine remark from a Japanese minister hardly surprises.

He was only referring to “his” women. Other countries’ women are, to him, weapons of mass destruction in the global corporate world.

ok nice ad easy tho it be to have a go at those murdering pearl harbor type guys, those of us in patriarchal houses of our own had perhaps best be wary where the missiles fall.obviously not the UK which is a land of freedom and opportunity for all men.just make sure the women don’t get to hear about it.

If I’m a machine, where’s the warranty?
If there’s no warranty, or it’s expired (turned 18), I’ll pay for repairs.
I’ve been begging my mom to get my abdominal section – bladder/kidneys, stomach/intestines, icky girl stuff – traded in for robot parts, but noooooo.
And she lived in Japan in the 80s! Did have any kids while there, maybe that’s why she had to leave? (Not because the military sent her back to the US because her time was up there.)

Did not have any kids there, oops.
Didn’t his wife give birth to a boy recently, meaning that the family could continue to rule?
(Or was that the Japanese royal family?)

I’ve lost track to be honest, kaitlyn, although I know there was some development or other. Something happened so that a pending high level discussion about whether or not a female could be an heir could be postponed.
