Insert witty and profound post
I’m here but both too busy and too icky-feeling (some sinus evil) to actually pull together a post. Fortunately, Twisty has three new ones up since I last checked, and she writes better than I do anyway:
Why patriarchy is like mayonnaise; how the latest Krazy Kristian Kult is interpreting the New Testament to mean that men should leave the toilet seat up; and, best of all, great news on the cancer check-up!

Gilliard’s always been a sexist twit. That whole post could be summed up as “What about the men?”

Mandos says:
You don’t think there’s an interesting confluence between the issues of race and gender here?
-
Violet says:
Yes, very interesting: black men get gunned down by cops because their women don’t trust them at home. The whole reason black men have it so bad is ’cause their women don’t trust them. In fact, the reason black men treat their women like shit is because their women don’t trust them in the first place!
Poor, poor men. They have it so bad. If only women would trust them and obey then all the problems would disappear.
Bite me.

Mandos says:
Is that really a fair characterization of what he’s saying?
-
Violet says:
Yes, it is. He starts out paying lip service to the idea that it’s fine to criticize black men, but then the whole rest of the post demonstrates that it’s clearly NOT fine to criticize black men. The whole thing is basically a retread of “how dare black women criticize or distrust black men even though we’ve been beating the shit out of them for a hundred years, hey don’t you know it’s hard out here for a pimp, wimmin got to stand behind their men or else white cops will gun us down.” It is really unbelievably offensive how he completely dismisses the writer’s legitimate feminist rage and turns it back into the Plight Of the Black Man and how it’s all on the shoulders of black wimmin to make black men feel good about themselves.

Infidel says:
“In general, men are distrusted in the society, even by other men. When you are black, this is multiplied hundreds of times.”
So my Irish distrust is say 37 and if you multiply this by 658 you get uh…24,346. So a black man has 24,346 distrust.

Pastor Al E Pistle says:
What would Jesus post?:
I love you.
-MandosJesus never said that to anyone insofar as we know. Non-Christians are doomed.
They are without God.
“Whosoever … abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God.” — 2 John 9
They are all antichrists.
“For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.” — 2 John 7
They should be shunned. Neither marry nor be friends with them.
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? … Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord.” — 2 Cor.6:14-17
They should be killed.
“If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you … Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die.” — Dt.13:6-10

No, it was Infidel who said that, not Mandos!
